Hi Chris,
Thanks, for your feed back,

But I run out of 0.5mm square section so have had to put working on the mast on hold until I get some more.
But did get in the post today some FO cable and LEDs so moving on to the lights above the hanger. I’ll post some pictures when I’ve done one side

Thanks Chris,

Back in the late 80s was the first time used LEDs, this was on my 1/96 Ark Royal. I installed them on the flight deck runway, quarter deck, along the island and the hanger. (Approx 25 LEDs)

I did sail it at local model boat club night sailing event, It was great fun.

Worked on the support legs for the main mast over the week end.

After a few days worth of surfacing the net to understand the shape of the supports, I Based them on some actual photos of USS Roosevelt mast, that showed the mast supports are triangular (7mm at the base to 4mm at the top) So I cut from 15 thou plaster card the three sides. once the leg was built up, I filled it with resin. This was to give it strength, after this part was cleaned up and used for a master.

The base was next and also made from 15 thou card, again the finished part was used as a master.

Both parts when casted are glued together.

Midori gaoka, Thank you for your feed back :-)) :-))  I’m always trying to improve my modelling skills and get as much detailing in to my builds as I can.

What’s your current build ? Is it a warship ?

HI Dave the reason i said the build is coming on slow is due to the wheather as i cant paint spray in my house as its a big hull so got to be sprayed in the garage an its to cold at the moment an i cant get on an fit my smoke unit yet till the plastic pipeing i need arrives nor can i carry on building the rear funnell on tiger as im still waiting for two induction fans so things are on hold so im now starting to try an build some other part of the ship till my bits turn up an your burke is lookin great very realistic an it will be nice to see her on the wet stuff  :-))

The USN seem to have wider companion ways. I looked at PE Royal Navy ones from Scale link, these were to narrow, so I thought I’d have ago at making them my self. If that does not work , them I still can look at SIRMAR Fittings to se if they have some.

Well after several hours and a lot of ****** >>:-( I ended up making the jigs three times for the companion stairs. I’m still not shore if they are correct.

PLEASE NOTE IM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO GET ANY NOTIFICATIONS TO POSTINGS DUE TO A BT MAIL ISSUE.
