So sorry to hear that Dave.

As for your Danforth anchor, it looks very accurate indeed. Is it a one-off or multi part casting, very hard to tell...

Best Regards,
Ray.

SO Dave she about 7 an a half inches in beam but still a fair beam so she should be ok to sail in rough weather but i say this as when i was down at beale park model boat show there was a gent who had a type 22 HMS CORNWALL in 1/96 scale  i think it was an it looked a lovely model an i said to him are you goin to sail it as at that time i was building a type 22 in 1/72 scale  an they are a very long thin ship but the gent said to me oh no its to windy to sail it as he was worried it might roll over an sink but there was hardly any wind but i suppoce it was up to him

Hi Chris,

Like you my 1/96 scale warships are all capable of sailing in reasonable wind, I’ve even sailed a Type42 in the Solent without any issues.

I always when building a model warship keep the top weight as low as possible. As up top requires to be twice less than that amount down below. A friend in the club has a 1/96 Type 45, up until he replaced the top radars which was made of resin with a 3D printed version, she sail very tenderly. But sense the mod she sails very well.

Until I can get Roosevelt on the water for a test ballasting I don’t know how much more ballast she will need to bring her down to the correct water line. I’ve do prelim checks in the hot tube, this showed she still requires additional ballast.

Finished the two sides, I was going to stitch the netting but I think the thread will look out of scale.

Hooray for resin! Re your nets, could you use fine fishing line or invisible thread?

Thanks Chris, I’m lucky in that Roosevelt only has 17 of them.

Tiger I assume will have a lot more than 17 containers ? If I’m correct she has that many just on one side?
