Hi Chris,
If I can help by making a mould from your L/C master if that helps, I’m more than happy to do that for you.

HI Dave many thanks for your very kind offer but ive bought all 80 odd L/C
all ive got to do is just make up the mountings out of brass rod which will be easy as im thinking of just drilling two holes  in to the L/C  at the front an then  bending  down the brass rods an under the L/C  an fitting the two bits of brass rods into the S/S by drilling two holes an then glueing them in postion as lookin at the real ship the mountings can hardly be seen so im trying to save a lot of work this way   but tedious but thats what modelings all about isnt it again MANY THANKS FOR KIND OFFER   Dave cheers its very nice of you ATB

Thanks Chris,
I did plan to take her to the lake for first test a few days ago but weather has been so bad, so she been put back in the workshop. I have however just finished making the display stand for when we can get back to shows.

Thanks Chris,
I’m pleased with her, however I’m still awaiting PE handrails and still have detailing to complete in the following areas
Aft Hanger roof, Hanger doors, bridge wings, RAS refuelling nozzles, lockers, bush master guns and lots off detailing on the superstructure.

Once the weather improves it will be nice to see Tiger on her first feet wet day.

Yes I’ve seen that film, thought in the film that the Burke’s props were way to big, but after making this model I’ve changed my view.

Hi Dave,

She looks great.

Sounds like you guys are enjoying the weather that was and still is here.

Dumb question.  How does that stand work?

Hi Martin,
As I’ve said before there is never a dumb question.

The fore and aft supports have 5mm S/S pins that fit in blanked off tubes which are fitted and sealed in the hull. When the model is fitted on the location pins it stops any sliding movement when the model is being transported. Hope this makes sense ?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for explaining that, I always wondered how it was done.  Do you do it to all your models, and does it affect sailing properties?

Hi Martin,
Yes, all but a few are done this way, no it does not effect the sailing properties as the tubes are flush with outside of the hull so does not effect the hull lines

Thanks Martin,

Must say I’ve enjoyed this build but do miss building in 1/48 as you can build in lots more detailing at that scale.

Both Grating painted and installed, next is to start the detailing of the bridge wings.

Progress so far on the detailing of the bridge wings. I’m currently making the four search lights, but trying to make up my mind  if I’m going to put LEDs in them.
