That looks realistic David, even down to the rocking motion of the helicopter - well modelled  :-))

Thanks Ray,
I’m pleased with how both the helo turned out, this one I need to finish off the decals & wheels. Then it’s back to the list of little detailing items that never seems to get less. <:(

I need to remove the burn't out motor on mine - I used a mobile phone vibration motor that wasn't up to the task.

Hi Warspite,The motor Ive used for this helo was a Micro Coreless Motor, DC 4.5V 32250RPM Coreless Motor, for Model Aircraft and Electronic Toys. My  reason for using these was they were 4.5 v, which means I can power it directly from the Forge distribution board.

The Motor size is 4mm x 8mm

Hi Chris,

I’d love to have it working , but as the tail sections is only 2 mm thick and the tail rotor head is only 4m, so even if I’d used the fishing wire method to drive it , it would have to bend 90dreg to connect with the rotor. May have worked for a time but would eventually brake and I’d have wreck the model to gain access for repair.

After finding a new web site for USS Roosevelt in 2020/21 it showed that the ship has had some upgrades.

One of these is the aft CIWS Phalanx has been changed to the SeaRAM, so I had ago at making a SeaRAM and will change the Phalanx over to SeaRAM

That does indeed look the business - upgrades to the armament, more or less in line with the real vessel, shows dedication to 'getting it right' - well done so far Dave :-))

After last week spending all day trying to machine the master of the large funnel caps and using up most of my 32 dia nylon round bar. I Asked my friend John Wills (Scale Warships) if he would 3D print a master for me so I could take a mould. He said he was more than happy to help.

So today I’ve finished casting all four required and have know painted and fitted them.
