Chris,

I appreciate your positive feed back :-))

As for power, I’ve been able to tested mine as it was installed. My power is taken from two 12v NIMH packs, during sea trials they seem to give good run time with all functions working.

I’ve cut my work list down by three items ok2  but during the research I found more detail items missing   >>:-( >>:-(

Slow progress but I have done a bit more detailing and also made a SCOM Dome that had been missed. As for the Bushmaster guns, I’ve modified the platforms as they were a bit to big on the Rev 1.

Once the weather improves I’ll be giving the hole model a good clean to remove the dust that has been building up. Then once that has been completed I’ll give the hole model a final coat of Tamiya flat varnish.

Next detailing item on the list in progress

These are the AS-3202 sensors that are fitted around the hull. The sensors fitted to the stern  have guards to protect them during docking.

There are six on the stern and six fitted to the forward superstructure.

HI DAVE just looking through your build an if i remember rightly you made your helo go in an out of the hanger bay dint you so how do you get on doin this as to me it looks like your main helo rotars are fixed outwards so or are they hinged ? or do you just take them off before movin the chopper into the hangar bay ?

Hi Chris,

I have two options,  which are to have one helo ready for flight and this one has a motor, the second is the one with folded rotors  and tail folded which does come out of the hanger by using the magnets and a sail winch. As for the doors they can’t be made working due to not enough space under the flight deck.

HI Dave well thought out on the chopper but a pity you cant get the hanger doors to open an
close  but a brilliant model this ship is all the same
VERY WELL DONE INDEED SIR

Let's go back to 1987 .......

[in 1987, one of these vessels attended our 75th Naval Centenary ........she had 2 Helos embarked with one secured in this flight pad position when she entered Sydney Heads]

Maybe secure the Helo with sea straps [as per original] and leave it permanently parked on the flight pad?"

I see no reason not to replicate such a scenario :-))

I would not be concerned if the hanger roller shutter doors did not open/close :((

Happy displaying and sailing...............Derek

Thanks Chris,

I’m a bit disappointed that I could not get the doors working. But if I’d thought about it earlier in the build I may have got around the issues.

As for the helo’s when I’m running her on the pond I’ll have the helo on the flight deck working, but when the model is at a show I’ll have the one moving in and out of the hanger.

Derek,

I’ll leave both hanger doors open, as that will allow all the detail in side the hangers to be seen. :-)) :-))

Sorry Ned......ultimately my 'bad' - error in choice of words

I blame the English language again  :D we celebrated the RAN's 75th  anniversary in 1987...in a Centenary of Defence

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Australian_Navy

Noah was Captain of a different wooden build, and in a different Land  {-)
