I’ve use motors Salvaged from H2s detector that we used at work. The unit are sealed and once the battery have run out they have to be binned. The motors are 4mm  Dia by 6mm and they run on 3volts. At this size I manage to fit them in the rotor housing and even in the tail. So far not had a failure.

power is via a distribution board supplied from the main power pack. I’ve also linked the sound system, so that when the power the Helicopter is switch, the sound system plays the sound of the Merlin helicopter startup run and shutdown sounds.

Well impressed with the clean and squared off work you've done on this section so far Dave.
Will you be doing little bits of painting as it progresses? - I'm thinking about fire fighting pipework etc...

Ray.

Had some time in the workshop yesterday and to day. So I thought I would get on with hanger detailing, however running out of materials meant this could not be done. So I started on building the aft superstructure and its roof. I’ve already tippex the joints ready for sanding. Once this has been done I can spray with filler primer.

Maybe I've led a sheltered life, but I have never heard of Tippex being used as a joint filler/disguiser.  Just the standard white liquid?  I guess it rubs down easily, and must be compatible with the paints we use or you wouldn't use it.  I am suprised you can still buy it in these days of electronic everything.  You learn something new every day!

Cracking build by the way.

Thanks Greg,
The Tippex tip was shown to me by an old plastic kit modeller. I find it a good way to fill fine cracks in joints. I have never had any bad reaction with primers or top coat paints. Once the top coat of paint is applied its water proof.

Chris the photo shows the distribution board installed,
The red and black wires with the cable ident number 2 & 3 are the power feed to the speed controller.
The radios plug is the 5volt power take of , which will be connected to the 8way switch unit. This will be used to switch items like radar, light, hello and other low voltage / amp items.
The red and blue wires with out cable idents are the feed from the two battery’s.
The two pins below these connections is the remote switch connection. This must be connected to allow the dist unit to work.
Hope this helps ?

HI Dave many thanks for the pic of the P.D.B an how you have wired it up cheers :-))
but I shall not be buyin the swithcher unit as I don't like how its activated
by usein the T/X levers pity that  <:( but each to his own   as I like my idea better to activate my on board units but a question please how did you fix the P.D.B down ? by sticky back pads or such ? or by the 4 corner nuts an bolts but I don't really want to interfere with them as it looks like they hold on that blue back pad  an Question 2 is have you fitted an inline fuse before the P.D.B unit an if you have what amperage is it ? AS I ALWAYS LIKE to fit an inline fuse to protect the P.D.B
an Question 3 is that grey box a sound unit ? on page 2 an did that come from forge electronics ? AN IS THIS THE UNIT that has a card fitted in with all the sounds fitted on it SORRY for all the Questions Dave but if you don't ask you don't know
THANKS an your build is comin on great lookin forwards to seein her on the wet stuff an will you do a vid ?

Chris,
The blue/grey box is not a sound unit, it’s my own control box that houses an 8 channel receiver and two 30 amp ESC. The reason for this is so I can take the controller box an fit it in which ever model I’m using , say a Type 42 destroyer that only used 4 channels, or OPV that use all 8 channels. The means I don’t have to buy several receivers or speed controller.

The Dist unit is fixed using the bolts that hold the blue backing plate.

There’s on need for a fuse on the feed to the unit. I’ve just put in on / off switch's.
The sound unit is the longer black box fitted next to the Dist unit and the square black box is the 8 way switch unit.
