The rest of the flybridge rails are now in buff etch primer and they need 48 hours to dry.The chrome paint is very thin so going to see if will spray.

Having spoken to Perkins this morning the chrome paint will not spray very well. So it back to brush application only. Just two pictures showing the glazing applied to inner cabin wall.

Just a few pictures today showing the fly bridge rails in etch primer this needs to stand for 24 to 48 hrs this allow the acids to etch into the brass. This morning the chrome finish was applied it now needs 24hrs to fully dry after which gloss varnish will be applied.

Think you might have let the game away a couple of posts ago but don't blame you for wanting to hold on. That brass work does look good and very convincing with the chrome paintwork!

Just three pictures today showing the material that will make the curtains. The material has been soaked in a diluted PVA solution it is then laid out on a plastic base and allowed to dry. Last picture a box of Dominoes  just a little more detail.

HI All the hand rails are now all fitted. The finished rails do have shine but they will never be like a pure chrome finish but that's it no more messing about. The silver paint is from Perkins Models sold under the name of guild line. The only down side it cannot be used with your airbrush which if possible would give a better finish than brush painting. I have to say I will be glad to see the back of this build and get back the grey funnel line.

Those railings really do look good.  Wish I could do brasswork to that standard.

Thanks for the heads up on the chrome paint.

Thank you Ralph for your comments. The next fiddly job to make the curtains no mean task  but what the heck just have battle on. Or It may be easier to make venetian blinds instead.

Stan. I do miss the grey funnel line. :(( :(( :(( :(( :((

Only a small amount of time today to do any work  just a few pictures showing the timber fitted on the bow area. Last picture shows first stage of the venetian blind construction.

After a busy morning I just managed the odd hour this afternoon. This allowed me to fit  the first part of timber to the external keel pictures to follow on Sunday.

HI after such a wet and cold day I have managed to get my garage warm enough to work in. The timber strips are now glued to the bottom of the hull  note the screw at the bow this held the timber in place and allowed it to be bent around the hull. Small clips were used along the full  length of the hull to secure the timber until the glue dried. Hopefully over the next few days  the timber will be cleaned up ready for the hull cladding to be fitted.

Fair play Stan, you must have some patience.
Hand rails look really good. Yes, they may not be a shiny chrome finish, but the way they've come out still looks really good on the boat.
The amount of detail you're putting in is fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article, as are you by the sounds of things.

Keep up the good work.
