Saturday spent most of the day moving snow and gritting the road. In the garage for the last few hours of daylight  laminating the hand rails with teak veneer. just two pictures showing the rails clamped to a building board and  final picture of the teak veneer.

Hi Dave I think your last reply was jinxed snow all day and cold but I braved the elements and did a little. Currently I am laminating the hand rails with teak veneer a slow job but hopefully worth it.

I am gluing the veneer to the hand rails but one slight problem. I am using P V A  and it does not like the cold so its glue the item then straight indoors  to allow the glue to cure. Second problem the gas bottle is running out cold garage until I can get a replacement.

Stan. Should have ordered a new bottle. >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o

Today I have placed the cabin back on the hull. Just a few pictures to show how the model looks still a lot to do. You may notice now using the new building board

Hi Stan;
I am preferably using a roller catch when attaching a cabin to the deck.
Take this 1m semi-scale cabin cruiser for instance.
In the picture,two roller catches are seen on both sides.Actually one more is at the stern.
Three points roller catches are holding the cabin securely,even on the windy and rough surface
of the lake in winter seen below. %%
The bow went into the water frequently and the wave struck the bow fiercely and repeatedly
as she was sailing fast...

First picture showing the amount of clips needs to carry out the fitting of the teak veneer to capping rails this has be done 4 times per rail. Last pictures  are shots of the hull and super structure  the hull is ready for the sanding sealer to be applied to the wood work.

Today we were greeted with more snow and fog so no work in the garage. The continued build was done indoors jus three pictures showing the fitting of planks to hull decks. Bending straight planks around a curve is a task in itself and trying to use P V A in cold weather is difficult with this in mind I am using deluxe Canopy glue to stick the planks to the ply base.

Stan. This morning made you feel like. <:( <:( <:( <:( <:( <:(  when indoors. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi Stan;
I'm so sorry about your working conditions by which you seem to have been obliged to build the boat. {:-{
The working originally should  have been more enjoyable and done in good circumstances backed up
with the weather conditions.
It is rather warm here in Tokyo where it is normally 0 through 4 degrees C outdoors at the coldest.
Hoping you the best result of the boat regardless of the weather conditions.!! :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi Backerther thank for your comments. The uk weather at times does stop my building in the garage. I can do small items in the house during bad weather.
Over the years despite the weather my garage has been the home of my model building

Planking the deck sections is not such a simple operation I decided not to use the glue in the last picture back to P V A glue. The problem is spacing the planks when going round the curve section.
