All I can say Stan is what a superb model you’ve made from a not so good kit, it is a credit to you. :-))

HI all back on the build after a short break in Scotland. If you are in Edinburgh Wonderland models is well worth a visit.

Many of my builds are at 95% and will likely never get to be "finished"  {-)

Looking forwards to your next project  :-))

HI all I have not posted much on this build lately. I will still give a summary when the model is finished. Other things are getting in the way at the moment.

Don't worry Stan - you've been at this for over 2 years so a couple of weeks here or there won't matter.  We will wait!

After many many months with my GB in mothballs I tried test running it on my local pond yesterday on the edge of Dartmoor.  The run was done without any topsides, just the hull and below decks hardware and electrics and with a hull that I had lightened as much as I dared.  Whatever you do Stan don't think of trying this with yours after all your hard work.  Mine shipped water like a colander.  If I continue it will now be with the aim of ending up with a static model!  As we all knew it is way to heavy to be classed as an RC ready model.  Shame on you Amati.....

That is a handsome boat. Deck of junior looks good.

Urgent work needed on  Grand Banks. I broke one of the anchors today thankfully I could remove the complete unit to facilitate a repair. The repair was done by gluing the damaged part with superglue and reinforcing the joint with a  strip of fibreglass. Next job repaint and refix note the thin brass wire connected to the anchor chain. The thin wire goes through a brass fitting  pulled tight and the screw nipped up meaning the chain is always tight.
