HI all I hope to be back on the build next week. With regards to the metal hand rails I checked with Grand Banks Europe today to see if any of them were ever painted simple answer no. Up to the nineteen eighties teak rails were fitted beyond that stainless steel rails replaced teak. So next week it will be back trying to find a paint . I also checked with a chrome platter to see if my rails could be chromed simple answer no they could not guarantee the results. Onwards and upwards.

HI Guys first pictures for a long time. Do you remember the dinghy covered in glass fibre? Well just a couple showing it painted white and the teak seat fitted in place. The masking will be for a blue line to be applied later.

Second set of pictures show the wiper blades that will be fitted to the front windscreen after they have been painted. Last pictures are of the chair that will be in the main cabin. It needs painting and fitting and more detail applied next major job to make 15 sets of curtains.

Hi John 44 thank you very much for bringing to my attention the defect in the chair build. I will rectify this before applying the final finish we all make mistakes  but it is not the end of the world far from it. I prefer to know about any defects so thank you.
Stan. :(( :(( :(( :((   Silly me but later. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))  all will be fine]

Hi all I thought after finishing all my work around my house it would be all go with my build. Sadly this is not the case progress is slow it may be a while before more pictures are uploaded to mayhem. I have thought at times to scrap the entire project but I will slowly move on and finish this project and get back on track with the grey funnel line.

After my last post I received a rocket from a certain person so I have managed 6 hours on the build this morning. Only four pictures today I have glazed the bedroom windows using a clear blue acetate far better than using clear acetate. In due course curtains will also be fitted

Back on the build should have some pictures later this week. Getting a chrome paint finish is like finding the Covid 19 vaccine lots of trial and error.

Evening Stan

Have you tried or considered Nickel plating..? I've not done it since being at school, so a while ago... I'm thinking of trying again. Brass plates really well, and it only involves some white vinegar, some nickel (ebay) and a low 4-6v DC voltage.

Best regards
David.

Its got a bit of a warm tint compared to chrome, but can be polished up quite nicely.

HI  just a few pictures today constructive comments on the chrome finish please. I have spent to much time and money on chrome paints this is the final finish and if this fails the rails will be painted white.

Stan. {:-{ {:-{ {:-{ {:-{  Chrome finish that's it

The chrome looks good Stan I don’t think you could improve it it does have a shine to it.
Best chrome paint I’ve seen anyway.

The chrome does look good, sets off the excellent work making the railings.  Can you let the cat out the bag and reveal what you finally used?

Just one picture this morning  showing a section of rail that will be fitted on the fly bridge. Please note this still needs two coat of varnish.
