RN Stanchion height
« on: August 16, 2019, 12:04:36 pm »

All, this may have been covered elsewhere but for modern RN stanchions (type 21, 22 etc) would you look at 15mm (1080mm actual height) or 11mm (792mm actual height) in 1:72 scale? Thank for any help. PAUL

I would have thought the 11mm high ones would be too short for 1/72 as I tend to use this particular height for 1/96 or 1/100 scale warships.
I’ve used RB Fittings in the past available from various companies like Deans Marine or Model Dockyard in Cornwall. These are brass items however and not cheap for a pack of 20 being close to £14-15 for 15mm high 3 ball stantchions.
Others may know better but I’ve used both heights but for the scales mentioned.

My 1/72 brass etched stanchions in all three patterns are £15 for a fret of 180+ which equates to 8p each

I always use Johns stanchions and at 1/72 they are 15mm high. Jon
