The Shipyard ( Dry Dock ): Builds & Questions > Hovercraft
Giving hovering a try.
Tug Fanatic:
I am not sure if you fully understand what is going on here.
The prop determines how many amps the motor demands from the esc. If that number is too large for either the motor or esc to cope with then the one that cannot cope overheats. It is highly unlikely that an esc cooked a motor but rather it would have been the demands of the prop being beyond the motors capability.
Antipodean:
I know this :-)) The escs were faulty and are being replaced and I am using larger ones as weight is not an issue and I have the option of changing to any motors I want. The first airboat burnt out a motor because I put a 10 inch prop on something that should have an 8 at most. The early tests of the hovercraft had the wrong props and the motors were under powered for the size of the craft.
