Plans for Odin tug
« on: September 15, 2019, 08:29:49 AM »

I am new to both this forum and to model boats.  I much appreciate the help and advice offered on the questions I have posted so far.

One project I have is to restore an Odin tug, which I believe it a discontinued Robbe kit.  It would be really helpful to have a set of the original plans that came with the kit.  Does anyone have a set of these plans for sale please, or have any suggestions where I can access them?

Many thanks
Peter

Hi Pete,

Thank you. That is an incredibly generous offer and very much appreciated.

Is there any chance you could send me a couple of photos please, particularly of the deck area and superstructure, as these are the areas where there are (I think) a number of missing components on my Odin?

The photos will help me make a decision about whether I can put one really good boat together out of the two.

I am about 200 miles away in Grantham, but am happy to make the trip if a composite looks promising.

Many thanks
Peter

Pics of this RC build are numerous and many, and many good models built
Pics of the original tugboat are quite easy to find but alas no lines plan available -I keep trying for this information or plans anyway.   Keep chipping-in if anyone is interested past google images!

...What I mean is it might help if you can post a pic of the state of affairs for you for us to start on.

Pete im sorry my blasted digital camera is on the fritz so I'm unable to send you images. The boat is all intact all deck fittings but the wheel house has damage and the deck crane has snapped at its base the boat is in a sound condition and in my opinion worth a little work to get it ship shape. As I said it's here if you can pick it up if you so wish. Im not asking anything for it as I'm unable to do the restoration myself  but would love to see it back on the water. It has a 12 volt motor fitted and a rudder servo but no other electronics.

Many thanks for all the comments and suggestions.

The tug in the plans does look remarkably like Odin - thank you 16-21 for posting the link.

RST - thanks for your suggestion about posting some photos of what I am trying to do.  I will do that as I progress on the project, especially for any particular areas I am struggling with.

tugboat Pete,

I would like to take up the offer of your Odin please, as I am sure I will be able to combine elements from the two models (particularly with advice from members of this forum and my local club). Hopefully, at the end I will be able to post some photos of the boat on my local lake. The only proviso is that I cannot be sure at this point which hull, superstructure etc. I will use. It is possible I will end up building the model on the hull I have now, rather than your hull (although it sounds that your model is generally more complete than the one I currently have). If this is OK with you I am happy to try to arrange collection.

Thanks again for your generous offer.
Regards
Peter

Hi Pete,

That is great thank you.

It is going to be a couple of weeks before I can visit you. Would either Sunday October 13 or Monday October 14 be suitable for you and your carer? Thinking about the travelling, a time around 1100 to 1200 would be great.

Is either of these days and the time convenient please? If not, I can be flexible for other days that week.

Regards
Peter
