New hand on deck
« on: September 23, 2019, 09:50:34 pm »

Good day to all,

I am a 65 year old white anglo Saxon male. I have always had an interest in model railways and plastic models of all types and scales. However I have two kits that intrigue me. Probably a very often asked question, My kits are the Italeri 1/35 scale MTB and Late war PT boat. I am interested in motorising and fitting RC to both.
Can ask for any advice or pointers please. This is my first dip of the toes in these waters.

Regards Graham

Rather racist  {:-{
Have you had your DNA tested to prove you are completely Anglo Saxon?

Have fun with the boats though

 You're just another person to us, welcome to model boats building.
  I suggest you start by searching for plastic magic, it's a term that includes a lot of what you are looking for.
  Back issues of the model boat magazine include some articles on your subject with some good ideas and techniques. There are even articles by females, and German people like the Angles and Saxons.

Graham
            Welcome aboard  There have been several threads about the Italeri 1/35th boats (the E Boat seems to be the most popular)  Anyone attempting the PT boat should checkout https://www.pt-boat.com/  Lots of good gen there.

My first venture into RC Boats was a MAS 568 conversion I sort of followed Dave Abbotts build in the model boat magazine https://www.modelboats.co.uk/news/article/plastic-magic-mas-568-4a-serie/13847 I went with a cheap brushless and esc combo but it went well just a little to heavy at the front I keep meaning to change the battery location but never got around to it.
