Miniature Table Saws

I need a Miniature Table Saw, and saw this one on Amazon. Has anyone got one of these, and was it any good? Alternatively, does anyone have any other suggestions?

But then again, maybe a Bandsaw would be more useful.........

The table saw is a knock off of the Proxxon bench top table saw.
Could be okay, could be bad, hard to say.

Hi Charlie - what do you want to do with your table saw?  Do you want the most precise cuts you can get in a straight line or do you want to cut rough shapes?

I'm very lucky to have a Proxxon band saw which is great for cutting shapes but is only as accurate as my usage of it.  I really like this band saw as it is very reliable and easy to maintain.  The dust extraction is very good too.

On the other end of the scale I also have a Bynes table saw - Its ultra expensive and completely unjustifiable to own but its also the most accurate machine I've ever owned.  There's nothing better but its also a bit too accurate to be honest its one of those things thats nice to own.  I wouldn't change it for the world and will last a lifetime and then some.

Proxxon make a FET table saw that has the benefit of a tilting arbour which looks like a great machine too.  I guess it all comes down to what you want from your machine.

Charlie,
I have the Proxxon version of that machine, which looks to be great value. I would not be without mine, the only downside is the depth of cut is limited to 10mm.

I have an old Black & Decker Minicraft bench saw and the scroll saw too. Both very limited in use . Better idea is to make your own by mounting a standard jigsaw upside down on a small bench - lots of blade types for that too - as suggested in an American modelling tips book.  Bench can simply be 3 bits of wood/coated mdf screwed together - make any width you like with a slot for the blade - you can add a metal blade guide to that. Cheap too - a good jigsaw is very cheap by comparison and definitely more robust.

I have been using the Proxxon table saw for 15+ years now, same saw blade a very reliable tool.  The on/off swirch failed about 6 years ago and I found the local proxxon dealer had none in stock and they were expensive, I found one on the net at 20% of the price and fitted in place and that has worked ever since, do not know what I would do without it!  It has only an A4 footprint so quite small.I have a bigish bandsaw for the heavy stuff.
