Thank you, Colin for putting this up. Its especially interesting to me because I am interested in the history of the naval base at Trieste. I was born in the British military hospital in Trieste in 1951. At the time my parents and older sister were living in the Hotel Excelsior - which still exists on the sea front at the side of the harbour entrance. I visited Triete for the first, and only, time since I was born in 1996, and tried to find some history of what had happened there during the 20th century, but little to be found(?) The old city area behind the hotel which was a slum in the 1950s is now a wealthy 'inner city' trendy area, but I couldn't find any naval history. Its almost certainly to specific to ask here, but does anyone know more? - I didn't recognise any Trieste landmarks on the film. Years ago (when I was a teenager), I remember being fascinated a book about the British submarine that broke into the Sea of Marmara during world war one - broomsticks used as false periscopes. Best wishes
