Hi, Martin
I have revised the wording that is more informative and appropriate for all
I have been speaking with mtroniks and what I said is exactly what mtroniks are working on
So please replace as follow's:
Hi, All
It has come to my attention that Mtroniks have had to revise the specification of their M500 motor
Mtroniks have informed me that the correct specification for the M500 is as displayed on Mtroniks website
( 12v RPM = 5500 no load speed ) 4700 at maximum efficiency
The original M500 ran at: 12v 16000 no load speed ( 14000 at maximum efficiency )
I have been informed by Mtroniks that their source of the original M500 motor had ceased trading therefore they had to find a replacement and at the moment they have had to replace it with the latest version
They are ugently trying to source a motor that is as close to the original version but for now modellers need to be aware of this change
Some retailers may well have some of the original version and the data on their webiste could be correct but it would be best to check with each retailer which version they have
The old version came with bullet lead's and suppresion fitted and the new version don't have either supplied
Also the new version has splines on the motor shaft and a regular 3.2 coupling insert will not fit without using an abrasive substrate to remove the splines
I have advised Mtroniks that the new version may well prove to be a usefull version due to
its low rpm that will be ideal in smaller models that do not depend on high rpm
They will possibly end up having two version’s, One with a high rpm and another with the lower rpm
So whilst Mtroniks are working very hard to find a solution please check with your retailer....
