Ripmax / Futaba Sail Winch
« on: January 01, 2020, 01:31:25 pm »

Hi,
I have a Ripmax / Futaba Sail Winch as per attached photo does anyone have a specification sheet on the operating voltage as I could ideally use 7.2 - 8.6v if possible?

mmmmmm that 6 screw retaining the servo tops remains a little illusive even after a Google search  %)  it shows, but there is no link to it

Why not ask your local Futaba distributor, or even Futaba direct?

Considering the M series ran on 4.8 it would be a push to use the voltage that high. 6 volts max, IMHO. nemesis

Most servos of that era used the NE544 chip, and you don't want to be running them above 6 volts.

As this was a sail winch it may have a beefed up circuit to drive a bit more current- the NE544 was good for about 500ma at best giving around 3 watts output at 6 volts.
