old speed controllers new radios
« on: November 03, 2019, 08:39:12 am »

ok, noticed a few posts recently on a few forums about planets and escs and end point adjustments etc.
now I have a quick one of my own.
I use spektrum dx6is and turnagy i6 TX.
I'm refurbishing a 55" sun xxi. now as its huge, I refuse to put small speed controllers in them, I'm using an electronise 30 jobbie. seperate receiver pack etc.
question.....
if I wire in the esc as described in the instructions, and it goes backwards, would it be best to swap the motor wires over or do it via the tx ?
personally I will do it by swapping the wires.ps the motor is a car wiper motor.

Swap the wires to the motor to get it to do forward without operating the reverse relay.  The relay takes quite a bit of current, I have seen them used with a separate RX pack which drained too rapidly for comfort.  On its way to complete failure, the symptom was "it only goes in reverse" as the voltage dropped below the relay operating threshold.  Less of a problem if a bec is involved, but still a consideration.
