Hi Beyno,
There is just one point to note with the Mersey class wheelhouse.......there is a 'knuckle' running along each side, about 18" from the deck level, which becomes the 'nose' later on. I noticed this when a friend was making a 1/12th scale version [hull, deck and wheelhouse] for me and asked me to confirm this for him before he committed to the plug build and moulding. It is most notable when you make the top-hung hinged covers, you will see a 'bend' across the top of them. I have never seen this correct in any models, until now, and there are just the three that my friend, a mutual friend and I have. Just worth mentioning.......should you want to join the 'Order of the Rivet Counters' or stay sane and go without.
Just keep up the build, it's looking good and mine is not even started.....there's a Shannon, an Arun, a Solent, a Trent, a 'Y' Class, as well as the Mersey...........all in build, but fun.
Cheers,
Kim [Canterbury Coxswain]
PS I also do a DVD of photos [some many hundreds - maybe some 800 if I count] of Mersey's with all their details, inside and outside and close-ups of all the deck and wheelhouse furniture, fixtures and fittings. They cost £7.50 each and all the money goes to the RNLI in the South East.
