I upgraded mine to the metal arms and since then one has released itself spontaneously. Hoping this will fix that.

Is it possible to alter the servo travel speed on the Taranis X9E ?

Yes, it is OpenTx firmware.
Open the "Mixes" tab and select the channel, a box at the bottom left is an option for Slow   Use trial and error to get the values that suit your need.
