Polyester and epoxy resin compatibility
« on: November 28, 2019, 02:19:26 pm »

Will one type  of resin cure properly and adhere to the previously applied other resin?

The rule of thumb is that you can apply epoxy to a polyester item (to repair, stick something, or whatever) but you can't reliably add polyester resin to an epoxy item.

Of course, for models the stresses and strains are usually tiny compared to full size stuff, so you can often get away with what many might consider poor practice (such as using car body filler to glue things together  :D ).
