Gambier Bay many years ago
« on: December 29, 2019, 05:07:14 pm »

I have been having a clear out of old e/ mails and this popped up from the back of beyond. Taken at Deans Marine Open Day 2007 by it brings back memories. This build started way back in 2003 it would be a further two years from when the picture was taken to completion.

Stan. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))A long project but worth all the hassle

Stunning Stan. You wouldn't enjoy a straight forward build without a challenge  {-)

Hi I was asked this morning is this model fitted with r/c? Yes operating the speed rudder lights radar lift. Dimensions 62.5 inch long 15 inch beam and 18 inch to highest point. The model is fitted with fittings from John Haynes fine scale models. Maybe if I ever build my second carrier Gambier Bay could be seen again.

Stan. :(( :(( :(( :(( If the second see light. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Like Stan I built this ship but at  1/128  so a 4ft hull that can be obtained from Fleetscale UK along with a lot of my hulls. My G/B can be seen on my site Portfolio section . This model is now in the States where the majority of my models go.
