Do not know but the name Erling Skjold is the name of a Norwegian WWII resistance member  :-)

Some sort of line thrower with a guide for the rope from the coil somewhere on deck?  Bit like a big bazooka?  Didn't Perkasas have something similar just aft midships (in appearance) but circular tubes?  Wonder if it's anything to do with that harpoon looking object the guy on the left is holding?

Not sure but it has features that match some of the Holman Launcher, whether it’s a variant or modified version of one. Whatever it is it looks like it’s used to launch something.
