SHG Model Supplies list Plasticard in thicknesses from 0.25 - 2.75mm and sheets up to 1372 x 660. On-Line catalogue is dated 2013 so best ring them for current prices!

Cheers Folks for all the replies.

I've also spoken to EMA Model Supplies who are still in operation. Wasn't sure about them as couldn't log in or reset password but phone call sorted it all out.

Just on plastics. What do most people go for? High Impact Polystyrene or ABS Sheeting?

There's usually a Plastics Factors (try searching for "rigid plastic" in your locations)  in most towns and as long as you buy a reasonable amount it's usually at a good price.  There's also a shop called 4D Model Shop in London whose price aren't that bad.

Having googled OP's location and any industrial or even model suppliers I'm a bit surprised how sparse it is!

For me I see most UK people using polystyrene sheet, states and Europe often go for abs or grp sheet.

I try and use my local shop but considering how remote we are were uncannily convenient with sports and model shop in dingwall. Otherwise I trawl usual eBay or pick-up anything I can on travels anywhere!  Model railway shops are everywhere.

For extrusions I always end up with slaters / plastruct etc. I don't like the European polystyrene extrusions (raboesh) -its very hard and I find a bit difficult to bond in comparison.

Quick question, these large sheets of styreme ordered through the post, do they tend to come rolled in a tube or flat?! Im thinking rolled up styrene tends to be a beggar to get straight and true again.

The sheets of Styrene that I buy could not possibly be rolled up. They are up to 2mm thick & very rigid.
There are not any obvious local suppliers where I live either.

The only time I've received an order for brass and plastic strip which was deliberately deformed into a smaller shipping packet was ordering from a modelshop in Europe who do some fantastic marine stuff!  But deliberately bending brass and plastic into a smaller packet, and taking an absolute age to ship (I had to chase it) to receive what were essentially damaged parts is a no-no, so would never order again.

My postie at the moment on the other hand seems obsessed with folding stuff. No danger with orders but I always wonder why when everything fits through the box.

The stuff I get can be over 1350mm x 680mm always well packed and flat.

My postie at the moment on the other hand seems obsessed with folding stuff. No danger with orders but I always wonder why when everything fits through the box.Reminds me of my sister's school photo, which arrived (folded) in an envelope which was marked very prominently "Photos! Do Not Bend!" Under that someone had scrawled "O, yes they do..."  ;D DM
