First thing that I saw was the marble run and it brought back school memories.

In the dark ages when I was at school we had desks with an unused ink well hole in one top corner and a small hole in the bottom panel. The desks were full of books but we used to try & arrange them so that if you put a marble in the ink well hole it ran around the contents and came out the hole at the bottom. The trick was to make it reliable and silent enough to use during a lesson when the lesson got even more boring than usual.

Having to take books out of the desk for a lesson and then change them for the next class meant the marble runs were never quite perfected.

Getting caught was not a good idea.
