Well today I've fitted loosely and tested the radio great. Jan 2017 as a modelling virgin I bought all the Action gear due to googling Smitt Rotterdam and found our top bloke Dave's many contributions  O0
Since then I've acquired very much more Action kit for my stock and today I veered away from Dave's original drawing and changed the P102 for a P107. I'm guessing the 107 was not in production when the original drawing guide was issued?

The only thing I needed to do was restrict throttle output for and aft to a guesstimate starting point and centre the rudder servo.
I'm using the Spectrum DX6 radio that I set up for this all that time ago but I've changed to a cheap as chips Orange receiver

I don't like these couplings but as I started over 3yrs ago and I knew nothing I'm now stuck with them. If I started again today I would remodel the motor mounts for a precise straight through coupling. The motors are Mabucchi triple 5's and again I think I'd change to brushless if starting over.

Also when I bought this kit I intended to use 12volt SLA but I'm going to use 2x3s LiPos

Past couple of days I've been fitting the forward hull upper skins with the deck dry fitted and bulwark ribs in place.

Far too progressed hence just for lockdown. Just had her in the bath and masses of lead required. Too heavy for kitchen scales that go mental over 5KG

I’m doing a proportion of fixed ballast and some adjustable.
These four compartments share 2kg of shot in resin

Finished the bedroom and in particular the flippin' built-in wardrobe at last. As well as forming the "terraces" and shelf, replaced the pull handles to the sliding doors, hinges to the hinged doors, skirting to the bottom and painting with grey furniture paint and white emulsion. Looks pretty good.

But now on with model boat building!

just been doing a little bit more work on finishing off the superstructure and then there is the job I really hate - that is the painting to do :-) - this is going to be an interesting model to see how she sails as twin rudders, single prop - but - have you seen how far spaced the rudders are, and this is from the plan - time will tell :-)

Just about finished the Milford Star.... a little bit of touching up  to do and lights to connect..... what next to build during continuing lockdown???? I've got a Polyphemus hull in the shed which I might adapt to a Steampunk sub !

Replaced the shed last year but didn't get around to reinstalling the electrics. Did that over the last day or so, fitted the supports for the garden equipment and repaired the water feature. That's more jobs ticked off the list. And today gave the barbeque a clean and fire up in readiness for later in the week. Another tick.

Hello all
Purists and rivet counters look away now unless curiosity gets the better of you.....
Having completed a Milford Star and a Sentinel Cutter during lock down I was looking for another project... I found an old Promethius hull and some bits of plastic sheet in the shed and set to work on a Fantasy Steam Punk TBD. Many ideas came from early French and Russian TBD's off the internet.
Scale is approx 1/32 and colour scheme will be an unusual weathered brass green and brown theme.
Forgive any deviation from modern shipping designs.

Just like ChrisF, not a boat but about to use up some formica that made an alcove a built in wardrobe, the various pieces dismantled by my sprogs will cover the end wall in the loft, I can then fit shelves to the formica wall using old kitchen doors (300mm wide) to put tools or other items on.

Once the wall is covered and all other openings covered, then I can move the old work bench and reposition the relatively new worktop further over, allowing for the loft ladder handle to be put back where it should be.

I also have to move the light switch so it is next to the hatch rather than having to stand in the loft to reach and switch it on.  %)

Looks like I will have to get the gazzebo out and put it up in the yard so I can work outside, though with the way the weathers playing up it might need to be tied down.

I'm doing a 2-storey side extension on the house - with another bedroom in the roof.     I've just fitted the long steels to strengthen the roof and then I'll be framing the new roof structure outside.    The far wall in the picture will be demolished.

Blimey Plastic, your work puts ours in the shade! I used to do the drawings for extensions and loft conversions, well still do for friends and family at no cost (!) now that I'm retired.

I'm pretty adept at DIY but know my limitations, not helped by getting older.

Coming to the end of the present decorating doing the landing which includes replacing the skirting boards and architraves and replacing damaged floor boards from when the heating was replaced. The guy that installed some of the door linings obviously didnt own a square or level which has been annoying!

Itching to get back to the model boats, it's been weeks since I've touched them.

I hope you've already laid in your stock of skim-plaster. I was told this morning that it's impossible to obtain any from the builders' merchants because British Gypsum have been closed down since March. I also understand, although I've not checked, that the going price on E-Bay is £50 a bag.

I wonder if that comes with free delivery..... 8)

Thanks   :-))      I did all the planning drawings and building regs myself - it's not that hard - the regs are a thick book of rules but most of it doesn't apply to single residential properties.       I'm covered in bruises from getting the steels in - I have an electric hoist that got them up to the floor level but it's been brute force & ignorance to get them into final position - and at over 120kg each, I'm building some muscles and losing some weight.      Once i got one end into position, I used lots of washing up liquid to get them sliding - a bit like launching a ship in reverse.     I reckon the whole extension will be done for only £9k as I'm doing all the labour and getting bargains for materials.      I'll be ready for plastering by October so prices should be stabilised by then.     I hope!  :o
