Had plenty of fun with my Interceptor over the years, has had plenty of knocks, but still comes back for more. When I take it to shows now I tow five waterskiers behind it, the public love it.

The Bismarck was sunk after only a few days..... I want a model to last longer than that!  ::)

Hi Martin,

Make sure it's the newer version, with the light blue colour scheme. The first version was much slower due to the prop being a bit naff and not a standard fitting. (I think Naff is the correct technical term) but other wise a great little boat.

my brother in law has one as a knockabout boat, dont know if its version one or two or whatever, he resprayed it so it does not look like every other interceptor, also he changed the prop for a prop shop item, its ok, goes fairly well for a RTR,  and it can be ' modded' fairly easily if you want to go down that route !

howes models knock em out very cheapily too

It doesn't matter if you get the early model, it's very easy and cheap to make it go much faster. What you do is get an electrical fitting that is used for extending the screws in wall sockets, these have the same thread as the propshaft you can then add a larger three bladed brass prop. Cost of update which increases perfomance no end about £8-00

Hi again,

I had the mk 1, and to solve the prop problem, I just fitted a new inner shaft and added about 3/4 inch in length to get the prop out of the tunnel a bit.  standard M4 prop then fits.

Apologies for digging this old thread up but if there's any chance you're still a member, I was looking as these extension studs but they have m3.5 threads each side. Is that close enough to mate with the m3 shaft and m4 prop? Otherwise could you point me in the direction of the part you used?

If that fails I'll just get another inner prop shaft with a proper m4 thread I suppose.

Just to confirm that the socket extension thing doesn't work at all. Being m3.5 each end it doesn't mate with the just under m3 thread on the stock shaft or an m4 propeller properly.

Either there's another type of wall socket extension stud that goes from approx m3 to m4 that google doesn't know about I'm doing something horribly wrong.

Looks like I'll have to change the inner shaft out, at least I have a larger 30mm prop now.
