Ha Ha Rhavrane, a familiar voice !  I see the video is from 6 months ago so the posting on Marten Howes website must be quite recent.

Rhavane for sure....  BONJOUR MONSIUER!  Ca Va?

....What little is on their website?  Uness anyone has more to offer?  Fast Steam Launch “Project X”

Quote
This model is our vision for a 50 foot fast commuter launch and day boat of the early 1900s for use on inland waters. It is not based on any particular prototype. This project started as the 10th kit we have designed and has remained as ‘Project X’

...I'm not a steam fan but this looks a very nice model!

From a web site in the Netherlands.
Specificaties/Specifications
Length : 1270 mm
Beam : 178 mm
Height to top of funnel : 290 mm
Height hull only : 54 mm
Max draught : 108 mm
Minimum freeboard : 72 mm
Displacement : 5.4 kilos
Displacement without steam plant : 2.7 kilo
Inspired by the Jaguar cars of the 50s and 60s of the X series, Brian Marten (86) still unexpectedly comes out with a kit of his Project X. Brian Marten, best known for the model boat company Marten, Howes and Baylis, has worked on this for years and is releasing his Project X in a very limited edition. As you can see from the pictures it has become a very special ship with very elegant lines. The kit consists of the hull, decks and all the woodwork to be able to build this beauty yourself. There are also extensive drawings and a building description how to build this model. We can offer this kit for a price of € . Please note that the steam installation shown is not included. We can supply this installation separately or, if desired, a somewhat affordable variant. The installation shown is by Marten Baylis also from England. Brian is planning to deliver a slightly modified version of this ship where an electric motor and RC can be built in for those who don't want live steam. Please contact us for more information or an order,

It bears a marked similarity to the Turbinia.

Greetings,
Just to let you folks know,

I just completed an Electric Variant of Project X.
Kit #6 of Brian's production.

I was going to write an article for Model Boats covering it,
but just as Martyn, the editor, and I were coming to terms,
they ceased publication for the time being.
I will be writing a build log in this forum.
Not sure which sub-group to put it in.Suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim Pope

Hi Jim

I understand that Model Boats are to recommence again around the end of this month so might be worth contacting the new editor if you still want to pursue publication?

Hi jpdenver, just a word, if you do a build log on this site MB magazine will not be very interested and will also not pay you in money.  The reason:- it has been freely in the public domain, so why should they pay for it?

Walked into that one myself!  Perhaps the new editor may have different views?

Regards
Roy

I think it's a given that you don't do a build blog first!

Well --- Guess who reached out to me today -
The new editor of Model Boats emailed me today.
So it looks like the build log will have to wait until
I see about the article.

Roy - you are absolutely correct -   no body wants to pay for something given away.
But - I will give you a taste -  Here is a finished view and a movie of her first days on the water.

(I tried to post the movie link - but it failed to show up.)Look me up on you-tube (James Pope Steam)
