HDML colour schemes
« on: April 17, 2020, 02:08:27 pm »

I am looking for a book/resource which covers colours and camo. patterns on the HDMLs, I have found lots of B&W pictures but no description of the colours used. I can only find colour pictures of models but there's no way of knowing if the colours are accurate. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Good  Morning, " Allied Coastal Forces of World War II" by Johnn Lambert and Al Ross, has a wonder chapter on HDML's, but sadly it does not delve into the camouflage colors used. That said, the numerous photos,B&W, show that there were many different schemes applied. I believe there is an association for HDML's. You may have some luk there.

CB3098 in 1943 had 3 plates showing the schemes and colours for the HDMLs. Basically the schemes all used white, B15 and G45. Have scanned one of the plates & it is attached.
