Civitavecchia harbour tug by Richard Webb
« on: April 18, 2020, 02:32:38 pm »

Hi all, I’m a newby to mayhem and indeed any forums, so I hope you will have patience with me as I’m just finding my way around. I did a bit of boat modelling when I was younger but drifted away from the hobby and found other interests. After retiring some 5 years ago I got back into the hobby and have since built some 8 models from tugs to warships. At present I have acquired plans for a harbour tug “Civitavecchia” by Richard Webb from Sarik hobbies which included the build article from MMI. I understand that there was a CD available at the time which showed pictures of the build. I would be most grateful if anyone could help me find a copy of the CD which would help me very much with the build.

I have the CD somewhere on a Hard Drive, I'll see if I can find the photos for you.   :-)

NB: Don't get your hopes up, it wasn't a great set of instructions or photos..... it is, just some construction photos....

Hi Martin, The photos are much appreciated. I’m sure the construction photos will help. I found that the instructions in the build article are a bit vague so as you know. A picture tells a 1000 words or something like that. Once again many thanks.
Best regards Brian

Ps I’ll post some photos of the build if I can work out how to do it.

Richard Webb does a really good book on "making model boats in styrene" if you're uninitiated.  It mentions the tug but concentrates on others, but is still an excellent read if you're struggling or wondering about the material.  Still a good book to have anyway.

Thanks Rich, I’m sorry I haven’t replied before now as I’ve been quit busy the last few days. I have a copy of the book which I agree is a good read and invaluable for anyone building in plastic. Once again many thanks.
