Cheers Towrope, I think you are right about the superstructure, but never mind you know me I like a challenge. Hopefully starting on her becker rudder today, I have just received a good photo of the rudder and nozzle from a friend who has supplied me with a lot of info on the Research.

Those becker rudders are tricky things to get right, so it's good to see your result - nice work Brian.  :-))

Ray.

Hi Brian nice bit of work did you manage to have the stern thruster working or is it just for visual affect looks a bit tight to have it working
                                                                                                                                                              take care and be safe

I have just caught up with your build Brian and I really like the mould and quality of the process.

I appreciate you not wanting to make them as a product but with the mould being so good, could it not be sold for further use by a company?

I look forward to your build log and progress  :-))

just for visual effect, it would be nice to have the stern truster working but as you have noticed its quite tight. I am trying to have her looking more or less like the Research. The stern thruster sits just above the keel on the research but on the model it would be a bit of a headache as the main prop shaft runs over the top of the thruster. :-))

I have had a few enquiries about a hull but I have decided not to sell any hulls until after I have made the model, then I will give it some thought.

thanks for that Brian thought it would be a bit tight I know your more than capable but it would give you a head ache trying and with having the Becker rudder I don't think you would gain much in the water

I have been adding a bit more detail to the hull today, I had plans to fit the bow thruster into the Arctic but thought i would make a start on the Trawler wash ports instead ( very time consuming 18 on each side

Started work on the inside of the hull, the deck I that you see in the photos is the main net drum deck. When the model is finished the net drums will be visible along with quite a bit of detail, I am building a removable hatch under the net drums just case of any breakdown with the rudder linkage.

You must of had the night shift on Brian looking good the amount of detail on that thing is really going to test your patient's keep up the good work

A bit more done, fitted a batterie box at this stage as once I start adding more detail it would not be as easy. The box holds two 150 x 100mm and one 100 x 65mm batteries. I did a water test to check for ballast with the two bigger batteries and she still sits well above her water line  :-))

A small update the decks are dry fitted, they will be secured at a later date as a lot of detail has to be done before they can be secured
