...if you genuinely believe that then I admire you and wish you well on your way.  Reality check everyone else please?

I got fed up with Windies and bought a Mac.   Started up running OS Mavericks , free upgrade to Yosemite, then El Capitan , skipped Sierra , but downloaded for High Sierra ,now running Mojave and Catalina is their on Ap store for free when I think it's settled and sorted all for free. What is this "reality check" thingy I need to check ?

A guy who is a new member to both my club and model boating has been trying to register himself on mayhem.
He is running Win10 and paid-for Malwarebytes and has tried putting the forum URL into the exceptions, but without success.
Could there be something other than Malwarebytes looking after him simultaneously?  Like MS Defender?
Some workround that works would be nice, he really does want to join.  And having pointed him here, its getting embarrassing.

Tell him to add Mayhem to his Exception list.

.... there's a recent post about how to on here, somewhere....

That was my initial advice, but Malwarebytes, or whatever is causing his problem, didn't want to play along.  Looking back up this thread*, it looks like white listing Mayhem is the answer, but the other suggestions offered like changing OS or buying an Apple are not really up for any sort of consideration.  I have advised him to try again, working directly off the instructions.  It is a fairly well know fact that machines are malicious in nature, and will only respond to instructions from the book IF THEY KNOW YOU ARE READING FROM IT.
*I was hoping that since the topics were merged, this was THE thread.

My malwarebytes is blocking mayhem again but whitelisting isn't fixing it this time.  Started a few days ago. I'll have to fiddle with more settings somewhere. To me there's something with mayhem not right (the website also). It seems to be the only thing apart from shipspotting it consistently doesn't like.

Hi,

In the lower right taskbar all I did was to click on the Malwarebytes icon and on the pop up choose Add Web Exclusion.

Do this while the MBM webpage is open.
