We've got a similar one at Knightcote. I've never seen anyone use it though!

How does it deploy the boat, it doesn't appear to protrude into the water and the wheels on the carrier would just 'fall off the edge', wouldn't something like the falkirk wheel be better.

Have seen a demo of it somewhere before
The poolside structure base is a fixture, no tilting elements........it has 2 x launching rails angled down to the water
The wire winch lowers the V shaped cradle down the rails & into the water & the vessel floats off

The first used wood rail wheels on a square tubing frame.
Second had a hand crank to lower and raise the ship in the cradle.
Both were portable, and brought to the pond.
