« on: May 20, 2020, 12:59:56 am »

Hello All,

Can anyone advise where I can source a Suitable Crane Hook in 1.24 scale. 1940/ 1960 era.

I've only managed to find these in the US but if there is some in the UK twould be handier.

Cornwall Models,  Aeronaut5350/00 small derrick hook. This looks to be the same. I assume that the 9mm is the width so that would tie in with the 1inch length.

The listing on Cornwall model boats says 9mm high not wide. I got some of these not so long ago and they are quite small and pretty rough and ready.  I think "scale" doesn't help too much, a 1Te hook would be smaller than a 10Te at same scale.  Better going off size needed.

There are sites that sell replacement parts for Mamod and Dinky toys.  You may find something suitable there.

Has it got to take any weight or is it purely decorative?

Cheer Lads,

just decorative,

I'll check the Meccano spares but that link is not working though. However you know what I actually have a crane set somewhere so bound to be something in there, sure it is in my parents loft though so may not be to wise to call up!
