BaitBoat Finished-ish
« on: November 10, 2020, 04:02:31 pm »

Hi All
I posted last year as i was going to make a bait boat then didn't have the time to put into it

I can now tell you i have finished the said boat but with one problem so I'm back to ask for your assistance....again

The boat is a catamaran hull with two bait hoppers with a servo for each and I'm running

X2 Mtroniks 500 6v-12v Electric Motors (brushed)

X2 WP 1040 60A Waterproof Brushed ESC

i did try a X1 Mtroniks v-tail mixer but couldn't get it to work properly so doing the "tank type steering through the TX mixer which works fine but takes up an extra channel

x2 4mm shafts running 35mm  3 blade props  ]x1cw & x1ccw

x1 set of leds front and back

Powered by x1 12v 10ah sealed battery with blade fuse between this and x2 ESC's

As i said it runs like a dream at 55% power mixed through the TX but first run only lasted about 2 minutes and the 10 amp blade fuse blew when i pushed the throttle up to the max (55%). Second attempt on a 20 amp lasted for about 10 minutes and blew .All cables and wires are of the correct size and do not get hot also the motors and ESC's do not get hot So rather than keep trying blade fuses I'm asking for advice please. What size would you advise or would an inline round fuse be better than a blade type. The reason i ask this is i converted my fishing barrow to being motorised but the blade fuses kept blowing. I then changed to an inline and its been ok since?

Thank you in advance and any help would be gratefully accepted
