Cabin Roof Vents
« on: June 16, 2020, 04:00:28 pm »

Help sought.
I am trying to source a couple of 1/12 versions of these roof vents.
The originals are 200mm across so scale wise we are looking at around 16.5mm, anywhere in that ball park would do.

I could have a go at making them but that's a bit of a faf to be honest. The idea of drilling 14 carefully spaced holes really doesn't appeal that much.

I have just discovered that Macs Mouldings does them, albeit in a bag with other styles of vent. However there are 2 of these in each bag and I only need 2.

Some of us thickos can't do CAD or 3D printing so if I tried to make them it would be hand made male & female wooden 'moulds' and then stamp out of thin ally sheet. For 2 it's not really worth making the formers.

Get in touch with Martin at Mac's Mouldings. I'm sure he will do you a one off order.

I think you'll find that the originals are stainless not chrome. However I'l have to settle for painted resin I guess.
