1/48 Scale figures

Hi all. I have recently completed a paddle steamer and need to put a crew on it. I have built a Caldercraft Joffre in the past, and the figures supplied with that kit would be perfect, but can't find them for sale anywhere. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Preiser have a selection at 1/50 which would be close enough... most 1/48 are military which would need substantial reworking.
Shapeways do 1/48 if you want to spend alot of money

US O gauge is 1:48, station staff might be of use with a different paint job.  UK O gauge is nearer 1:43.  Possibly OK if you want your crew to be big lads. 1:50 is fractionally smaller, but will be easier to fit in any close spaces.
