Are the plans from the old Radio Control Boat Modeller, still available, and if so any details ?

Some of the RCBM feature plans made their way into the Model Boats Plans range now marketed by Sarik Hobbies. They are usually prefixed BM while the plans that appeared in Model Boats are prefixed MM.

Unless you know what you are looking for the best way to track them down online is to vistit the Magazine Exchange website and trawl through the RCBM section where the contents of each issue are listed. Then try to find anything you flag up by doing a search on the Sarik Hobbies site.

Sadly no luck, found the magazines ok which i have anyhow, but the plans were ones you had to send for, not the ones given free.
Looking for the ones of HMS Victorious, in the 1988 magazine.  I only need the sheet with the hull lines and frames.

Not all plans were taken into the Plans Service, and some that were have been subsequently dropped so the chances of finding a set now would seem to be pretty remote.

Is this the one?  https://magazineexchange.co.uk/cw/radio-control-boat-modeller-magazine-july-august-1988-issue.html[/size]

Says the Plan is included,

If not available from Sarik then this is the better option, also probably would be cheaper, or am I missing something ?

I've got a copy of that issue upstairs, I'll check whether it has a plan in it.

I have the article in front of me now. HMS Victorious was a feature plan, not a full size pull out. The plan should still be available, the article gives the plan number as MM1415. The model is 47" long and was designed by Peter Holland, who I remember better as a designer of often unconventional switches to  model aircraft and novelties such as radio controlled robot. The articles includes details of a speed control system using four micro switches.

Like a lot of other plans it is no longer listed. This might have been because there was little demand for it or the original may simply have deteriorated too much to be reproduced.

Thanks one and all for the help and replies.  found both drawings but as they just fit on an A4 page i have no idea what it scales out at.  The drawing would have been 1/200 and I was going to take it to 1/96.  Now me and scales just done mix.  Tried to upload but constant internal server error.

The original model was stated to be 47" long and was scaled up from an Airfix kit. I don't think it made any claims to be an accurate scale model, so it might not be the best one to scale up from if that is your aim. I got the impression from the article that it was more a demonstration of Peter Holland's mechanical switching and other devices.

One inexpensive option you could try is a free card model download. I've tried http://www.shipmodell.com/index_files/0PLAN7B2.html and Victorious comes up as a 2meg dowload of zip.file for her on roughly 20 pages. Includes full hull profiles BUT how accurate I've no idea.Yes, I did scan first and it seems clean but "caveat emptor"!

Found it but its wrong period, its Vic in WW2 and not 1960, I have the card 1/200 for her so might use that to create the lines and frames

Ahh! Didn't check that but I've used one from Marcle in the past and it's quite good fun converting to wood & metal!
Cheers
