Burner BOBINO.
« on: August 20, 2020, 08:27:29 am »

KBIO,Where does that burner come from?Let's put together a thread here as a reference.

The goal of this burner is to avoid the flamme to be blown off when resuming the boiler’s working pressure set .

Ex: the gas regulator is set @ 45 PSI . When this pressure is reached, the main gas line is shut off and the gas is deflected thru the pilot light port to supply the burner.
It may takes a while , 7 to 10 psi drop in pressure before the burner suddenly opens and blow the flamme. Bad situation when in middle of the pond !
The proposed burner avoids this.
The drawing I present is for a 150 gr/h burner, and a 300 gr/h drawing .

You can see 3 different size burners . The smallest one (no drawing ) is the minimum size (13mm) I could reach for an operational burner of 60/75 gr/h (equivalent to N°5 common jet)..
Smallest is a mess . I couldn’t have something steady.
For information, I use now jets from 3D printers. There is all the sizes and I just flatten the tip a bit. But the size jet is not a big concern if you can use a gas pressure reducer.

Pic one shows the 3 different sizes burner I use.
The advantage of making the skirt in stainless steel is the the tip is red increasing the performance of the burner.
Pic will come later. Server does not take it.

Video 1 shows the tiny pilot light at the jet level and sudden opening without switching off the burner.

Video 2 shows the gas rate adjustment with a needle valve. The jet is in but the rate is calibrated once for ever.

Conclusion; This is just an unpretentious shared experience kindly proposed . Burner technolgy is a headheach which is incomprehensible for me . Some engineers of this forum will be able to give more informations that I would be happy to learn..

Hello!
I found this one with a quick explanation. I use them for my Flash steam coiled heater.
That's hot !
