Mobile Marine models T4a motors
« on: August 31, 2020, 10:11:54 am »

good morning to the collective,
I've bought two of the T4a motors for the latest project for space reasons.
Would Anyone with experience of these motors please comment as to prop sizes they will work with.
I'm hoping 50mm brass on 6 or 12 volts.
An idea as to current draw would be nice as well.
Thanking you in advance.

I cannot reply as I don't know the answer but I would also like some real data on the performance of these motors as I have never seen any offered anywhere. it is not as if they are cheap enough to just buy one to try.

Unfortunately they don't list whether their RPM number is at 6volts or 12 volts - kind of important for figuring things out!

So, if they don't publish any data, why would you buy one (or two)?  MFA publish full data sheets for all of their motors on their website - easy to pick one to do a particular job.

I believe you will find full electrical data/characteristics for these Series of motors in a Mobile Scooter WEB page ....this has been published here on MBM some years ago

The overall consensus was low current draw, high output torque & high efficiency, continuous industrial type data ratings

The comparison between the various series of motorsdesigned for the model market and those of industrial usage is typically between Chalk & Cheese {-)

Is there a T12 motor in the range?......you will find the information if you try  O0

Max rpm is quoted as 6,400 rpm so that will be at max voltage
Expect slower as the voltage reduces

Personally I think it’s too much to ask for a 28mm motor to drive a 50mm prop

Des, i bought two because I've got a narrow hull (they are only 28.65mm diameter) and a need for 50mm or thereabouts propellers.
I figured,by looking at their model specs, that as they recommend a pair of them for nearly all their model tugs, for normal running, they would have the necessary urge to turn 50mm plus props.
Yes I could have ordered from other suppliers, but thought I'd try something 'nicer'.
I've searched the web, Taranis, thankyou for that number, that is what I was hoping for, I ought to be able to run a pair of 5 bladed erotic props.

Could you please send me, under plain cover, your supplier details for erotic props.  Asking for a friend.  %)
