Must agree with Greg that the rabbit hole would be like that famous song 'The long and Winding Road' and with little result except for a final lockdown :police:  .....having said this, and in support

Having spent a number of years serving our RAN in Above Water Weapons....[Missile Launchers & Gun Mounts] .could I suggest ....if we shoot a projectile ...it is considered reasonably short range even if over the horizon........the result?... surprisingly accurate

If we launch a missile.....the primary task is to move it from from the launch platform & in the general direction of the plotted target

In a Naval operation, the vessel provides the ticketed co-ordinates of the target to the missile.....the guidance radar system in the missile once launched continually adjusts if necessary the missiles jet propulsion trajectory to beam and lock in on the target until the two meet with absolute accuracy

ICBM's are just what the acronym stands for Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles  <*<   .which is like that other song..'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'

In conclusion, have you noticed that Parliamentarians [dingbats  O0 appear to have discovered a newish word [to them] 'Tradectory' and repeat this word time and time again when discussing the economy of the Nation

Is the response accurate enough to detect and intercept the 5 MRVs planned for the Chinese DF26B anti-ship ballistic missile which has a range of 1800Km and a terminal velocity of Mach10 ?
We have always been accused of planning for the last war and not the next.
