Morning looking for some help with painting letters and numbers on a sailing I have uni posca white pens How do you guys do it without it bleeding through and looking raggy on the edges of the letters need them to look sharp and crisp.ThanksCoastie

I use vinyl letters/numbers for my sails. Much sharper than results than painting.


Sadly I forget where I got them from.

In the best Blue Peter tradition I used sticky backed plastic (Fablon).  Printed off the numbers on paper to whatever size was needed, cut them out and used that as a pattern to cut out the Fablon.

I have been buying my sail numbers from RC Yachts in Kent up to a couple of weeks ago @ 60 pence a letter/number.  Then the postage.  80mm tall black on thin vinyl.


I had a look around ebay and found a supplier who would make to order. 40 numbers for £9.45 including postage  - cadikins was the e bay member.


I ordered on a Sunday and received them the following Tuesday which i thought was a very good service. 


With my old fingers they are a bit fiddly to apply, that said they look great, and i have not wasted one yet, putting them onto Mylar and  Scrim.
