Model tug forum
« on: September 12, 2020, 04:05:37 am »

I went to log- in to the model tug forum but an error message appeared stating that the account was suspended.  Is anyone else here also a member of that forum and knows what has happened?

Hi Toby

Yes, MTF went defunct about 4 weeks ago.  I am not hopeful of it returning.

How's your Imera going?  I haven't seen anything from you for ages.

Hello Des,

Thank you for replying. Strangely, I thought that it may be you who would do so if you were on this forum.  Do you have contact info for George who was near Tilbury or the other moderator who I think lived in Vancouver Island  and built large unusual tugs;  was his name Michael?

I am a bit under the weather at the moment with a cold and other ailments but otherwise generally fine as can be with this virus interrupting everything. Have quite a number of boats on the go but not looked at the Imara / Perseverance for ages.

And you?

I haven't seen anything on MTF from any of the moderators for over a year.  At the time I even volunteered, but heard nothing back from the Tugmaster.  I know Michael (in Anacortes, Vancouver) was at least still alive as at about 4 months ago - his personal website arose from the dead around then, and is still running, but nothing from him on the forum.  You can contact Michael at 2tugboats@gmail.com.

Me - I've been unwell for about 8 weeks now, with some form of chest infection which simply will not go away.  I manage to get a bit done on one of my models every now and then - about 3 -4 hours per day (but only 1 -2 hours productivity).  Hopefully the warmer weather will help when it arrives.

Looking at the the wayback archive it does not look like much has happened since Feb, or at least that was the last time the site was scanned, only seemed to me one main poster " seamonkey"

Dees and the Longbuild,
Thank you for your replies. I assume all the useful information and pictures are now lost unless the website is resurrected by someone.

Thank you and yes the link is helpful but I have found that some pages are not accessible and as one cannot log-in  then pictures are not available.

I will try later and glean what I can.
