Arn't you lucky.   I have just had to drive 8 K's, 5 miles, to the nearest Parcels Office and wait in a 'socially distanced' line in an outside corridor that channels the wind past ones ears, for a parcel that could have gone in our letter box.  >>:-(

I don't see anywhere on that website where it says they will pick-up parcels from your home. Its just the Buy Postage Online site which I have been using for quite a while.
Maybe they are running a trial of home pick-up in some areas?

Barrie it’s  ok... the Royal Mail is the most overrated delivery outfit going they are utterly useless!
We are only getting 2 deliveries a week, no parcels only letters, for parcels you get the card to go to the collection office which has went from being open 0800 to 1800 most days to 9-12 and 15-16 5 days a week, and 8-12 on a Saturday.

It took 8days for a next day delivery letter to go 6miles using these morons.

Apparently it’s because of covid....

Hi Gingyer - I think it was BrianB6 your comment was directed at :-))

I have no problems with Royal Mail - except my postie is Italian. He's only been in the country 20+ years, with an English wife and two kids, but I still can't understand him {-) {-) {-)  He does however do a good job and will always find somewhere to leave a parcel if we're not in. He's been on the round since we came here 11 years ago.
Its the same with the other couriers. Those companies who have a regular driver are excellent, those (Amazon) who pick someone at random are the problem.

From the link -
Quote
Pay with card, PayPal, or using your Online Business Account
Drop off at a convenient location:
Royal Mail Customer Service Point
Post Office® branch (except Tracked 24/48 packages)
Postbox drop-off (except tracked items, or items requiring a signature)
No mention of door to door.
So its not really an extra service, just a different way of paying, possibly more convenient for somebody, probably not for a "normal" customer.

Our local parcels collection center went from a convenient (for the customer) spot in the middle of town, close to almost every bus service, to a spot out on the edge of town that requires almost everybody using public transport to plan a days expedition.  And for drivers, a site that is unfindable for a satnav, which guides you to the back wall on a "no stopping" bit of main road about a quarter of a mile from the turn off.

It is a very very limited service...
Parcel Collect   Our Parcel Collect Service is available in the Bristol postcode area and will be expanding to Bath, Gloucester and Taunton postcodes shortly with further areas later this year.

It's not available in my area.  No surprise being anywhere north of Carlisle to be honest.
...Strange as at the start of lock-down our postal service is now lightning quick compared to before.  Don't let anyone give you guff about Scottish Highlands postcodes.  I'm getting things though RM in about 18hrs turnaround these days now.  The only couriers that can match that seem to be the ones who kick the parcels up the road (DPD take note!).

Hermes have been doing home collections for ages. I'll stick with them, probably cheaper too.
