1:24 S80 Schnellboot
« on: October 08, 2020, 04:52:43 pm »

Hi, Newby here..
Just taken possession  of a fibreglass hull and tons of deck fittings, ply, plastic sheeting etc for a 1:24 Schnellboot.
There is only one drawing with it, which is a draughtsman type drawing approx 5` square and no instructions.
Does anyone happen to have a set of plans to build one of these please? Happy to pay for them.
Andy

Hi can you put a photo of the hull up.
If it is the hull I think it is it is a scratch build project no instructions.

I haven't any plans anymore but I can send you photos of my brother's S38 which I renovated for him.
A sample of photos below, quite a few more available if you want them.

The hull originally came from Westbourne Model centre in Dorset back in 1998, along with the decfittings that I have, torpedoes, liferaft, oerlikon, machine guns, hatches, anchor, the list goes on.
The plan is only really for the surface stuff, but wat I need is the plans for below decks, stanchions, etc and where to attach motors, electrics etc..

Hi that is the hull I expected.
I did obtain this hull many years ago from Metcalf Mouldings all my fittings are scratch built.
The hull does not come with build instructions.
Deadbeats hull is the same as yours and mine.
I will post a photo of mine shortly.
Have you built a model before or is this your first.

Hi Graham, This will be my first boat build, yes.. I have built numerous planes and a mate had bought this many years ago with a view to building but never got round to it. As a result he thought I might like to have a go at it.. I just need an idea on stuff to get started really. i have the prop shafts and propellers along with the external mounts as well. I would like an idea on how to build the bridge section etc unless there is one readily available in kit form?

simples

Sadly not "simples", I have probably 95% of the stuff listed on this website in a box of parts already.
What I need are plans.... And a simple reply to threads rather than all these questions...  :} :}

Hi the plan you show is the same plan that I received with my hull from which I took my measurements for my build.
I did also chase up photos on computer to assist with build.
My plan was to 1/24 scale I am assuming that yours is also.
If you wish to send me a PM with email address  I will organize some photos to assist.
It is easier for me to send photos via email.

If you look for gra2 on page 1 of the NAVY Military Battleship section I have a build of a S100 model at 1/24 scale.
This may help with build info.
