Does it actually do anything? I know when I got a different esc it was a "xxxxx" and in my case the channel was reversed.

Many ESCs want you to start with neutral, let it figure out that neutral has been found, then be offered forward, agree about that, then go for reverse.  If, however, the transmitter has its control logic reversed, it never sees the second limit.  The result is a "non-reverse" ESC.
The usual cure is to operate the transmitter channel reverse before setting up.  Futaba were very fond of doing things that little bit differently.  An ESC designed with Futaba in mind struggles with "others", one designed for "others" will struggle with the Futaba standard.  "Robbe Futaba" seems a well used phrase, they might work to the same standards.

Tried that Malcolm,Did not recognise neutral setting at mid way.
Have now used another speed controller.
