Topaz (Kind of)
« on: October 31, 2020, 05:32:43 pm »

Hello!
As promised, I am glad to show you my Topaz.
As the drawing were originally made for her , I did start with this building. Only the hull is drawn. All around and above is left to the imagination.
My "Canicule" (Heat Wave) was build during the heat wave season, but I shall not call the next build "La Covid" !! {:-{

I don't come back on  the hull construction but I start directly with steam plant and some pic of the cockpit.

2.5 cc Anton (specially made) and return flue Cheddar boiler with Bobino burner . Gas tank : home made.

Hello !
Thank you Rhavrane ! ok2
So, as I had the drawing of the hull only, anything else above was left to my imagination.
Then, instead of building a closed lounge, I decided to go for an open space. A lot nicer for the summer time!
But I changed my mind later on .... O0
Regards.

Bonjour Yves,
I would kindly suggest you to extend the awning because it does not make sense to let the leather seats wet from the rain.

Good evening!
Let's go on and finish this topic on the Topaz!
So when I was tired of the summer cockpit, I decided to build the lounge. Not easy I must admit.
but step by step, it has been achieved.
Below is the progress.
First pic is the summer cockpit out leaving the space  for the lounge!
Regards

Bonjour Yves,

Nice plant, leaks belong to our steam plants and just one concernn there is something wrong, your machine does not run at 2 000 RPM.

I would say about 400 - 600 RPM maxi (which is already huge) and the problem possibly comes from the shape of your TOC which creates false reflects.

Very nice KBIO...

I do prefer the enclosed cabin to the open sided version......& as Raphael suggests....maybe paint the coupling brass diameter with flat black paint, then just 1 slither of reflective tape will provide correct RPM via the digital tachometer

Hello !
Well seen! :-))
I new those RPM were not realistic and I shouldn't have present this video. I made a test the day after , and after repainting my measurement disc and I have 650/700 RPM.
Which is in the range for such a set.
Thank you for the remark. ok2

have a good and safe day !!
