New to Forum / flood chamber question
« on: November 01, 2020, 08:40:20 pm »

Hi new to the forum but not rc. Use to race 1/8th buggy but always had a interest in boats.
Bought a mono x had some fun with it but just pre ordered
Atomic 70cm Brushless Boat. My question is has anyone fitted a flood chamber on this boat or something similar.
Thanks

Hey 'Grovehead',

Welcome to the Mayhem!

( All International Lockdown rules apply.... but only outside this Forum! ) :}

Most boat come with them fitted but no reason for you not to fit your own.
Size and placement seem to be the key factors, ie. will it naturally flood if flipped & will it flip once flooded?!
Also, is there enough room for a flood chamber once batteries fitted and boat balanced?

The old fashioned way of doing this was fitting a float device on to, so if the boat flipped, it would self right.... not quite the same this.... and ugly!

BTW:  This boat?

Volantex Racent Atomic 70CM Brushless Radio Control Racing Boat

If so, bad news, flood chambers won't work on catamarans....

Cheers for the reply.
Looking at the pics of it inside I believe there would be enough room down the left side and I could relocate the battery to the middle of the boat.
I've just never done one and wanted a few pointers

I just don't think there could be enough leverage to flip at cat over.... I can't see how!

....... Happy to be proved wrong!   :-))
