Hi David,

Yes it can Handel a larger prop, it’s currently running on a 38mm, it could take up to a 42mm. However the pond I sail at is a bit too small.
Once I’m happy with her, trim, rudder water pickup and the flexi shaft has bedded in, I’m going to take her offshore.

My plan was to get to the pond early so there was not any other members, so i would have clear water to do the second test.  {:-{  As you can see there was a few boats already there.

The first part of the test run went well, she run with her nose flatter, however the second part,  the rudder pivot pin popped out , so I lost steering. Then had to be recovered from the weeds by another member >>:-( >:-o

Murphys law David, If it can go wrong it will. At least, only the weeds suffered.

So right Ian,

I’d never thought the pin would ever drop off. On checking the rudder unit the grub screw they used to lock the pin in had stripped the thread. As the unit is Ali I’ve drilled the hole larger and put in an S/S insert and re tapped the thread used a new SS grub screw. I also machine a flat on the new S/S pin. Let’s hope this will be fixed now.
